Needing Abortion Advice?

There are a lot of reasons women consider abortion when faced with an unexpected pregnancy. Sometimes, women don’t feel ready to be a parent. Or, the timing is wrong. Or, the partner is wrong. Sometimes, women feel the need to finish school, start their careers, or feel like their family is already large enough. Some women consider abortion because they’ve been abused or sexually assaulted. The fact of the matter is, this is a very personal decision, so we thought we might offer you some advice on abortion.

What should you do if you’re feeling alone?

Facing an unexpected pregnancy can be lonely and terrifying. We want you to know you are not alone. Sometimes the best thing to do is to talk with someone who is completely unbiased to your pregnancy. At Mid Cities Women’s Clinic, we will compassionately listen to you. We want you to know we care and are here to serve you without judgement.

What should my next step be?

Make an appointment with Mid Cities Women’s Clinic. At your appointment, you will receive a complimentary consultation where we will listen to your situation as you determine what pregnancy options are possibilities for you. Then, we will have you take a pregnancy test. If the pregnancy test is positive, we can confirm that this is a viable pregnancy through an ultrasound. In many states, an ultrasound is a pre-requisite to an abortion procedure. Why? Because as many as half of pregnancies end in miscarriage. During the ultrasound, our Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Registered Nurse will be able to determine the viability of your pregnancy and the gestational age. If your ultrasound is inconclusive or not viable, you won’t need to decide because your body already made the decision.

When and why should I make an appointment?

As soon as possible. Why? Because the sooner you can find out how far along you are, the better. Regardless of your decision, it is good to know where you are and if your pregnancy is developing normally. We advise you to gather all the information you need to make the best decision for you and your future. ALL of our services are FREE! You don’t need to worry about the additional financial stress. So why not call 817-577-4387 or request your appointment online.

Just remember you are not alone in this. You are strong. You are brave. We, at Mid Cities Women’s Clinic, are here to support you. We look forward to serving you the best way we can!

My Best Friend is Pregnant. How Can I Help Her?

“I think I might be pregnant. Do you think I should get an abortion?” Have you found yourself at the end of this question? Did your best friend just tell you she is pregnant? What do you say? Perhaps you’ve never experienced this, or maybe you have, and you still have mixed feelings about your own abortion. What do you do? How do you encourage your friend, sister, or cousin to find the help she needs? The help you may not have had yourself. If this is where you are today, this blog is for you.

The first best step you can take is to encourage, listen, and talk with her.

You can tell her that at Mid Cities Women’s Clinic we care about HER! We want to provide ALL the information she needs to make an informed choice. You can also share that many women miscarry in their first trimester and that it’s possible she may not even need to make a decision. An ultrasound can give her that information – and we can offer that service at no charge. Our medical staff and counselors can provide all of the information and testing she needs to make an informed choice.

The second best step you can take is to encourage her to CONTACT US.

At Mid Cities Women’s Clinic, all our services are FREE! We offer a consultation to go over different options, pregnancy tests, and an ultrasound that will confirm whether her pregnancy is viable. If your friend thinks she may be pregnant, encourage her to come in right away.

The third best step is to let her know you are there for her.

You can assure your best friend that Texas law allows a minor to consent to a pregnancy or STI test without telling your parent. However, if you are a pregnant teen, you cannot make any decision concerning abortion without parental consent. Her decision to have an abortion may be one of the most significant choices she ever makes. Keep in mind, you have a strong voice in your best friend’s pregnancy decision, even though, at the end of the day, it is her decision alone to make. You can let her know that it is vital that she is fully aware of all her options, risks, and benefits. It’s her ultimate decision, we are here to support her and care for her needs. Call us today: 817-577-4387. Or, if your friend is not comfortable, she can go online and request an appointment HERE.
