As we approach Valentine’s Day, you may be making plans for your boyfriend or significant other. But, what happens if your plan turns into something unplanned or unexpected — like a pregnancy. That’s why we are here as a trusted medical clinic, where we offer discreet, non-judgmental, and compassionate care. Before you make any decision, it’s important to be certain that you are pregnant.
What are some early pregnancy signs?
1. Missed period
This symptom can be misleading if you have an irregular menstrual cycle. Your menstrual cycle might occur every 21 to 35 days. If you are past that window, you may be pregnant.
2. Tender breasts
Due to hormonal changes, your breasts may be sensitive and sore. However, after a few weeks, the discomfort will likely decrease as your body adjusts to hormonal changes.
3. Nausea or vomiting
Many women refer to this as morning sickness, although it can come at any time. This often comes about one month after you become pregnant.
4. Increased urination
You might find yourself urinating more often than usual. This is because the amount of blood in your body increases during pregnancy, causing your kidneys to process extra fluid that ends up in your bladder.
5. Fatigue
In early pregnancy, a lot of change is happening to your body. Additionally, high levels of the hormone progesterone are produced, making you feel sleepy.
You may experience pregnancy symptoms within a week of conception. However, some women report that they did not experience any symptoms for a few weeks.
What pregnancy services do we offer?
1. Pregnancy Tests
Our pregnancy test can detect pregnancy as early as 7 to 10 days after conception, with accuracy greater than 99%. Additionally, our test is hospital grade and is administered by one of our licensed medical personnel or staff.
2. Options Consultation
Our options consultation is a one-on-one confidential session with one of our trained patient advocates. Your patient advocate will listen to your situation as you determine what pregnancy options are possibilities for you. In addition, you will be able to share some of your concerns and get answers to some of the questions you may have.
3. Ultrasound
After a positive pregnancy test result, patients who qualify will receive a state-of-the-art ultrasound exam. This examination is performed by one of our licensed sonographers. You’ll want to be 100% sure your pregnancy is progressing and rule out ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage.
4. STI/STD Testing
Regardless of what pregnancy option you are leaning towards, getting checked for an STI/STD is important as it can cause serious complications. If you are sexually active, you should be tested on a regular basis.
